Colon cleansing-helpful or harmful?

Our health is threatened by thousands of toxins and chemicals on a daily basis in the home, through the air we breathe, our food and water supply, at work, and through the use of pharmaceutical drugs. Colon detox has become a very popular way to get rid of the garbage that accumulates on our insides. One of the best measures you can take for keeping a clean and healthy internal environment is conducting a body detoxification and colon cleanse. The Colon is one continuous hollow tube that is approximately five feet long and 2 to 3 inches in diameter. A healthy digestive tract plays an important role in eliminating the waste and toxic material from the body and absorbs the water and sodium to maintain the electrolyte balance. A good colon cleansing diet will help you maintain a healthy weight and healthy lifestyle.

When debris, impacted fecal matter and intestinal invaders are allowed to reside in the intestines, many health problems begin to arise in the colon. These toxins can build up over time and the excess fecal matter may put pressure on internal organs calling for a colon cleansing.
